Volunteer Youth Worker

The Destiny Project is looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Volunteer Youth Workers to join our growing team.
Our Youth Workers help create safe, welcoming and inclusive environments where children and young people can take part in activities, develop new skills, build confidence and feel supported.
You don’t need years of youth work experience to make a difference. We’re interested in people with the right attitude, patience and commitment to young people, and we want volunteering with Destiny to be an opportunity for you to develop too.
What you could be involved in:
- Supporting youth activities, workshops and community projects
- Building positive and appropriate relationships with young people
- Encouraging confidence, teamwork and participation
- Helping young people develop practical and life skills
- Supporting session preparation and delivery
- Working alongside other volunteers and project leaders
- Helping us create an environment where every young person feels welcome and valued
We’re looking for people who are approachable, dependable, patient, non-judgemental and willing to learn. Previous youth work experience or qualifications are welcome, but shouldn’t necessarily be essential if you’re prepared to undertake appropriate training.
Any role involving regulated work with children or protected adults would, of course, be subject to the appropriate PVG and safeguarding requirements.

Fundraising & Events Volunteer
Help us turn ideas into opportunities.
The Destiny Project is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our fundraising, community events and campaigns.
From organising local events and developing fundraising ideas to approaching businesses, supporting donation drives and helping bring campaigns to life, this role is ideal for someone who wants to make a practical difference in their community.
What you could be involved in
- Developing new fundraising ideas and campaigns.
- Helping organise community events and activities.
- Building relationships with local businesses, organisations and community groups.
- Supporting collections, appeals and sponsored events.
- Helping promote fundraising activities through our communications and social media.
- Supporting events on the day, including setup, coordination and engaging with the public.
- Helping us identify new opportunities to raise funds and increase awareness of our work.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need professional fundraising experience. We’re more interested in enthusiasm, reliability, creativity and people who believe in what The Destiny Project is trying to achieve.
Whether you’re an experienced fundraiser, brilliant at organising events, confident speaking to businesses, creative with new ideas or simply want to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll get from volunteering

We’re happy to work around the time you can realistically give. Whether that’s helping regularly or supporting particular campaigns and events, your contribution matters.
