I am a student counsellor with Fife College. I work from a person-centred pluralistic approach, meaning I believe problems arise from a range of causes, therefore there are a range of tools which can help. My approach is tailored to each individuals requirement and wishes, working together collaboratively. I currently have another placement within trauma counselling. Outside of counselling I am passionate about football, I am also one of the coaches at Destiny United FC and my favourite colour is yellow.
I am one of the student counsellors here at Destiny.
I am a pluralistic counsellor by training - if you were to imagine a toolbox full of different tools, each designed to fix specific problems. A pluralistic counsellor is someone who uses the right tool for the right job, but instead of physical tools, I use different therapeutic approaches to fit each clients unique needs.
I believe that there is no one size fits all solution and I am open to exploring these different approaches together. Collaborating with you to understand your preferences and tailoring the approach using various techniques from different schools of thought allowing me to create a personalised approach that addresses your specific issues and goals. This way of working will allow you to feel involved and empowered in your journey towards growth.
In addition to The Destiny Project, I also volunteer with two other services. The first is Shout, where I assist individuals in crisis through text, guiding them towards a state of calmness. The second is Safe Space, where I co-facilitate an emotional resources group for survivors of CSA.
With three years of dedicated study within counselling, I am deeply passionate about mental health advocacy and making a positive impact. I have another placement working within trauma.
Outside of work, I find balance and rejuvenation in nature, prioritising self-care to better support others. I am eager to bring my commitment and compassion to help individuals navigate life's challenges as a trainee counsellor.
I am currently a trainee Counsellor studying towards my HND Counselling at Fife College. I am looking forward to working with the Destiny project as it already has such an amazing team who I am so excited to work with! I also have another placement at a primary school so open to working with any age group!
About me: I love animals, gaming and going for walks on the beach with friends.
I'm a student pluralistic counsellor through Fife College. Mental health has always been my passion due to my own history and have always been an advocate for open and fresh thinking towards it and the reduction of stigma.
